2019 Yamaha Tracer 900

As a Yamaha three-cylinder heavyweight model, the Tracer 900 has been well received since its launch, and it has replaced the FJ-09 as the new star in the Yamaha sports wagon product line.

The 2019 version of the Tracer 900 is available in both the Standard and GT versions.

From the side, the Tracer 900 GT is somewhat similar to the MT-09 street car. The engine is a three-cylinder, and the frame design and appearance are similar.

Recently, foreign media also conducted a test drive experience on the 2019 Yamaha Tracer 900 GT.

The test drive location was chosen in the wide canyons of southern Washington State, surrounded by the Klickitat River and backed by Mount Adams, which is also a great sanctuary for the Moss. The Tracer 900 GT is undoubtedly the ideal motorcycle for a personal motorbike.

The new Tracer 900 GT comes standard with a travel side box, an upgraded suspension, cruise control, fast shifting, a full-color TFT display and heated handles.

The Yamaha FJ-09 has won most people's hearts with its engine, sturdy chassis and reasonable design, while the Tracer 900 GT is more focused on fine details and added versatile electronic configuration.

In terms of configuration, the Tracer 900 GT features a new suspension with fully adjustable front fork and adjustable rebound and preload (with new remote adjuster) for a smoother ride and eliminates The roughness of the old model in this respect.

The new model also features a modified slim, lightweight CF die-cast aluminum frame with a longer CF die-cast rocker arm for superior flexibility and high speed stability. Among them, there are three power modes to choose from, which are A (strongest), B (lowest) and Standard (standard), and a three-stage calibration tracking system (Traction Control) is added to reduce the mistake caused by the control throttle. The danger of crashing greatly increases the safety of the rider.

The exterior of the body includes redesigned headlight assemblies, slimmer hand guards, aerodynamic new fairing panels and saddle-shaped cushions.

The GT version comes standard with cruise control and heated handles for better cruise performance. The three-section adjustable windshield is also larger than the old one and can be easily adjusted with one hand. The rear part is equipped with two high and low adjustment seat cushions.

For added comfort, the handlebars are designed to be narrower, while the seat cushion has a new shape and a thicker foam fill, and the ankle support and grip handles of the rear seat have been redesigned.

The new full-color TFT display is exceptionally eye-catching, easy to read cycling data, and has a new menu button on the right handle.

The side boxes on either side of the large frame are not small, each can hold 22 liters and are opened or locked with a key. The new remote preload regulator for rear vibration is located below the silver side panel.

In terms of power, the new Tracer 900 GT is equipped with hydraulic cooling, DOHC, and a three-cylinder engine. The overall performance of the engine is not as good as the usual four-cylinder engine, but the small size makes the body slimmer and easier to drive.

Its maximum power is 84.6kW/10000rpm, and the maximum torque is 87.5Nm/8500rpm. This data has surpassed many public upgraded street cars.

During riding, the seat height of the body is adjustable to provide sufficient legroom and the position in the ride is comfortable and upright. In addition, the windshield and hand guards provide good wind protection.

The Tracer 900 GT features Dunlop D222 tires for medium grip and wear resistance.

When entering the corner, the softness of the front fork and the spring require a little time to get used to. The forks are up to 137mm, but 50mm of them are used for static sinking. This soft rebound can be felt when you use the front brake for the first time, and they will sink immediately.

Therefore, we must first get used to the sinking of the front and rear shock absorbers, and with the rear brakes, we can quickly find the way the car enters and bend, and then the suspension has a 140mm stroke.

It's hard to imagine that the Tracer 900 GT weighs more than 500 pounds, but feels more like a lightweight sports wagon when riding, thanks to its new suspension and longer swing arm. Control and stability are greatly improved without compromising flexibility.

In terms of price, the base price of the 2019 Yamaha Tracer 900 GT is US$12,999 (approximately RMB 88,154).

Unlike other large-displacement versatile models (such as the KTM1290 and BMW Waterfowl), the Yamaha Tracer 900 GT is definitely a mid-displacement road traveler with its impressive power and easy-to-use design, plus Yamaha's precise positioning. The first choice.
